Book 1 of the Dark Reflections Series

Tristan is an actor and he plays a supervillain in the movies. At least he thought he did, but then he has an accident and he wakes up surrounded by the world of the films. Now he has to figure out if he's hallucinating, if somehow the movies are real and he's been transplanted to another world or if he is actually Devon, a supervillain having a psychotic break. Whatever the answer it's frighteningly crazy.

"Me, Myself and I" is an exciting sci-fi/fantasy novelette (~15.5Kwds), with a heavy side of male/male romance.

Book 2 of the Dark Reflections Series - Dreams and Reality is NOW available.

Me Myself and I Superheroes and Supervillains or Concussion? Dark Reflections Book 1 edition by Natasha DuncanDrake Literature Fiction eBooks

Looking for some superpower romance I ran into this weird little tale. First of two stories, with a typical ebook marketing where the first one is free and if you are interested you can pay for the second. Unlike many of the erotica version of short ebooks, this book of 58 pages is nearly entirely (81%) related to the story - and there is a story! Plus the second tale of the series is not short - 155 pages - over 50K words - worthwhile paying a bit of change for. Overall the two books are more of a short-story prequel (free) and novel (pay the author so she can eat) combination.

Loved the premise of crossing dimensions to where the Main Character (MC) is mistaken for the person he plays in a movie. Because the movie character is insane, our MC has to question himself if he is actually this other person. Every person in the story comes off believably real - the MC, the "love" interest, the interrogator, etc.

The weird part, and some of the most interesting points of the story, occurs when the MC meets the movie version of himself. The character he studied to play the movie role, so he has insights and understanding which no one else has for this insane villain.

Last part of the tale - what would you do when you meet your evil twin self? Or, better yet, what would you do if you needed to beg an insane villain for a ride home?

In the extras after the main tale, you get the teaser for the next book and it looks even better than this prequel.

Note for an "erotica" this book has only one explicit M-M sex scene towards the end of the story.

Me Myself and I Superheroes and Supervillains or Concussion? Dark Reflections Book 1 edition by Natasha DuncanDrake Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

This was a free download. I felt that the ideas/plot was fresh and original but the way it was written was confusing and it got a bit too bogged down for me. In the end, I didn't care about the outcome and even though it was short, I didn't finish it. Good concept but the execution could have been better.
This story was free on when I got it and it is still free when I am typing it. For freebie it is not bad at all, especially unusual plot. Characters are just sketched, I would love to see a longer version or a sequel. Ending is very open ended, but I thought it suited the story.
If you ever wanted to "know" yourself, (in the Biblical sense) this is the story for you. Interesting storyline. Good characters and character development. Points for being Offbeat and unusual. Only downside is length. Having to buy multiple books to get a complete story is annoying.
The biggest draw for this title was the word "free". I am always on the lookout for good M/M stories and this one has a great deal of promise. I would strongly suggest to the author that she invest in a proof-reader and sounding board. The story as a whole is interesting and I see a lot of potential for story line growth. The misspelled words, although few do take away from the overall, like died when she meant dyed and there is no y in the word pajamas. I can see this story being fleshed out from a short story to something really great.
I really enjoyed this story were Tristen is in the world of the movies he made. In the movie he a super villain named Devin. You think he Tristan and Gage would hook up and you feel the chemistry but it is actually Devon that he has relations with. Which is actually his own character. It is a normal reaction find someone attractive and desirable when you see your self in that person. What I really liked was the very end, which I will not reveal to those who have not read this story but it left open for its sequel.
...so it must be good, right?

This story takes the trope of “actor in your fave show/movie gets sent to the fictional world,” and then has delightful fun with it.

Spoiler having sex with a variation of oneself ALWAYS intrigues me as a concept.

C’mon, this story is free. What do you have to lose by trying it out?
I got it as a freebie and I did not expect much from this M/M short story the bland blurb on the book description and the elementary cover art were not particularly promising.

I am happy to say I was wrong.
Conveyed by a writing which is quick and much to the point, the plot may not be awfully original but it is tight, consistent and entertaining. Rhythm is very fast and the lead is fully rounded. Side characters are far less so but it is probably due to the story being very short. Devon seems an interesting antagonist, though.
Dialogues are sparkling, sometimes a little too much for the perilous situation Tristan finds himself in, but they elicit more than one smile.

There is one, maybe a little unexpected, explicit sex scene towards the end. It is well done even if more could have been done to build up the tension leading to it. I would have apreciated for the two lovers to switch roles in bed, but this is a personal taste, of course.

The story is self contained but there are many openings for a sequel.
Editing is good with just two typos affect instead of effect and a "you're" instead of a "your" towards the end.
